Take a walk to the Simba River to experience the beautiful rainforest for yourself and, whilst there, take the opportunity to look for the local Black and White Colobus monkeys, with their long flowing coats, which inhabit the area. The Colobus monkeys are only one of the many species which reside in the dense rainforest at the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro so you will have a great chance to spot other indigenous creatures too, especially if you bring your binoculars!
If you take the 45-60 minute walk, which leads you 70 metres down the valley, you will also see, first hand, how we get our water from the river to the farm by using an old hydraulic pump system originally placed in the 1920s by the first settlers on the farm.
