Welcome To

A working farm and lodge situated on 7,000 acres of rolling hills in West Kilimanjaro with breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Maasai steps and Mt. Meru.  A family farm since 1981, we grow wheat and barley for the local Tanzanian market and seed beans for overseas export.  The lodge, the ‘Old Guest House’ with five bedrooms and two country cottages are surrounded by lush gardens.  All meals at the lodge are prepared with fresh vegetables from our own gardens.

Simba Farm Lodge is accessible to our guests all year round.  The dry season is between November and February, followed by the long rains starting in March and lasting right through to May.  June and July are our cold winter months!

Being at the foothills of West Kilimanjaro and nestled between national forest and open plains at 1,700 metres, the temperatures in early evenings and night time can get frosty quickly.

At Simba Farm Lodge we provide a choice of rooms to our guests, each one offering something different to the next.  Our old guest house built in the 1920s creates a rustic, cosy ambience with a warm living room and wonderful spacious veranda.
The guest house has five guest bedrooms however due to the structure of the building and specific layout some rooms have sharing bathrooms, which are suitable for families or larger groups.  Please rest assured that we will never make you share a bathroom with someone you do not know!
Simba Farm Lodge also provides the Jacaranda Cottages which are the newer buildings surrounded by lush flower gardens.  One homely family cottage with one double and a twin room, with an exclusive double room on the side.
