About Us

Make your way to the foothills of Kilimanjaro and discover our historic sanctuary. Surrounded by breathtaking views, countless nearby adventures, unique fauna and flora, our farm is an experience like no other.

About Us

Who Are We?

Simba Farm has been in our family since 1981.  We are a working farm with 5,000 acres of rolling hills situated in West Kilimanjaro, offering breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Maasai steps and Mt Meru.

We grow wheat and barley for the local Tanzanian market and we also export seed beans overseas.  Tourism is our newest subdivision at Simba Farm, helping to promote Agro-tourism within the local community.

An Exceptional Destination

Simba Farm is accessible to visitors and guests all year round.  The dry season happens between the months of November and February where temperatures can reach up to 35 degrees, followed by the long rains starting in March and lasting up to May or June.  June and July are our cold winter months where an open fire is cosy and most welcome at night.

Being at the foothills of West Kilimanjaro, at 1,700 metres above sea level and nestled between national forest and open plains, the temperatures in early evenings and night time can get frosty quickly.

Our History

A Farm Filled
With Lots of
History And Stories

We have managed to trace the history of Simba Farm Lodge, taking us back to the early 1900s when the farm was called “Simba Estate” and was owned by a German family. We got this information from a soil sample records book. Sometime between the 1950s and 1970s the name changed to “Simba Farm”.

Please note that whilst we do love dogs, and have several at the farm ourselves,
guests are requested to leave their furry friends at home.
